Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp aluminum-free baking powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 lbs chicken wings (flats and drums separated)
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to remove surface moisture. In a large mixing bowl, toss the wings with 1 tbsp of neutral oil.
- Combine the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Sprinkle the mixture over the wings and toss thoroughly until evenly coated in a thin layer.
- Arrange wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 360°F (182°C) for 12 minutes to render the fat.
- Use tongs to flip each wing, increase the heat to 400°F (204°C), and cook for an additional 8 minutes until the skin is mahogany-colored and crisp.
