Ingredients:

  • 1 rack (approx. 900g) baby back ribs
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 cup high-quality BBQ sauce

Instructions:

  1. Remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a butter knife under the skin and pulling it off with a paper towel for grip.
  2. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels. Mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne in a small bowl.
  3. Apply the dry rub generously to both sides of the ribs, pressing the spices into the meat to ensure they adhere.
  4. Using kitchen shears, cut the rack into manageable sections of 3 to 4 bones each to fit your air fryer basket.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Place ribs in the basket and cook for 15 minutes to begin rendering the fat.
  6. Turn the ribs over so the meat side is up. Continue cooking for another 15-20 minutes.
  7. Ensure the internal temp is at least 195°F. The meat should be shrinking away from the bone tips.
  8. Brush your BBQ sauce over the top of the ribs.
  9. Cook for 3-5 minutes at 400°F until the sauce is tacky and caramelized.
