Ingredients:
- 1 rack (approx. 900g) baby back ribs
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
- 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
- 0.5 cup high-quality BBQ sauce
Instructions:
- Remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a butter knife under the skin and pulling it off with a paper towel for grip.
- Pat the ribs dry with paper towels. Mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne in a small bowl.
- Apply the dry rub generously to both sides of the ribs, pressing the spices into the meat to ensure they adhere.
- Using kitchen shears, cut the rack into manageable sections of 3 to 4 bones each to fit your air fryer basket.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Place ribs in the basket and cook for 15 minutes to begin rendering the fat.
- Turn the ribs over so the meat side is up. Continue cooking for another 15-20 minutes.
- Ensure the internal temp is at least 195°F. The meat should be shrinking away from the bone tips.
- Brush your BBQ sauce over the top of the ribs.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes at 400°F until the sauce is tacky and caramelized.
