Ingredients:

  • 6 oz strong hot coffee
  • 2 tsp dark brown sugar
  • 1.5 oz Irish whiskey
  • 1 fl oz heavy whipping cream
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Fill a heat-proof glass mug with hot water and let it sit for 2 minutes to preheat; discard the water before assembly.
  2. Stir the dark brown sugar into the hot coffee until completely dissolved, then stir in the Irish whiskey.
  3. Pour the chilled heavy cream into a small bowl and whisk or froth until it reaches a thick, pourable consistency (soft peaks).
  4. Slowly pour the cream over the back of a spoon onto the surface of the coffee to create a distinct floating layer.
  5. Garnish with a pinch of ground cinnamon if desired.
