  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 3 medium apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup (120 g) pecans, roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup (50 g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.
  2. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Mix in the egg yolk and cold water until a dough forms.

  9. Stir in the chopped pecans and melted butter.
  10. Spread the apple-pecan mixture evenly over the crust.
