Ingredients:
- 3 ½ cups (450g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp or 7g) instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk, warm
- 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 2 tbsp (30ml) milk or cream (for icing)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, melted butter, and eggs.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle (approximately 12x18 inches).
- Spread melted chocolate evenly over the dough, sprinkle with brown sugar and drizzle with vanilla extract.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place buns on a lined baking sheet, leaving space for expansion.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Optional: Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing, drizzle over warm buns, and enjoy!
