Ingredients:
- 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (165 g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (6 g) baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
- 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing well to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Use a rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing several inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and centers are slightly soft.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
