Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165 g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (6 g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing well to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Use a rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  8. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing several inches apart.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and centers are slightly soft.
  10. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
