Ingredients:

  • 2 ¾ cups (330 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup (170 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Optional: ½ cup (90 g) chocolate chips or nuts for mix-ins

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Cover and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
