- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened (226 g)

- 3/4 cup (165 g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (113 g)
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line the baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla. Mix until fluffy.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- In a separate bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, mixing well.
- Add eggs and vanilla, stirring to incorporate.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt; mix until just combined.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Pour brownie batter over the cookie layer; gently swirl to combine if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with slightly moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before lifting out and cutting into squares.
