Ingredients:

  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp or 7 g) instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (6 g) salt
  • ½ cup (120 ml) warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 4 tablespoons (56 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together warm milk, warm water, and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until fully incorporated.
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and allow it to rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
  7. Place shaped rolls on a greased baking sheet and cover. Allow to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  9. If desired, brush with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven.
