Ingredients:

  • 1 pound gluten-free sausage (such as breakfast sausage or Italian sausage)
  • 1 cup gluten-free baking mix (like almond flour or a gluten-free all-purpose blend)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if desired.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free sausage, gluten-free baking mix, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Add to the sausage mixture and mix until thoroughly combined.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to make the mixture easier to handle.
  5. After chilling, use your hands to form the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
