Ingredients:
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups (281g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (6g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix until just combined, avoiding over-mixing.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the cookie dough.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
