Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (315g)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast (7g)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup whole milk (120ml), warmed
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (60g), melted
- 1 large egg (50g)
- ½ cup brown sugar (100g), packed
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (30g), softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar (120g)
- 2-3 tbsp milk (30-45ml)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together warmed milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, covering it with a clean towel.
- Allow to rise in a warm place for 15 minutes, until slightly puffy.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 12x8 inches) on a floured surface.
- Spread softened butter over the surface of the dough.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
- Tightly roll the dough into a log, starting from the long side.
- Pinch the seams to seal.
- Place log in a greased loaf pan, seam side down.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the bread cools, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over the warm bread, slice, and enjoy!
