Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (315g)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast (7g)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup whole milk (120ml), warmed
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (60g), melted
  • 1 large egg (50g)
  • ½ cup brown sugar (100g), packed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (30g), softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (120g)
  • 2-3 tbsp milk (30-45ml)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together warmed milk, melted butter, and egg.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, covering it with a clean towel.
  6. Allow to rise in a warm place for 15 minutes, until slightly puffy.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 12x8 inches) on a floured surface.
  9. Spread softened butter over the surface of the dough.
  10. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
  11. Tightly roll the dough into a log, starting from the long side.
  12. Pinch the seams to seal.
  13. Place log in a greased loaf pan, seam side down.
  14. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  15. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  16. While the bread cools, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  17. Drizzle glaze over the warm bread, slice, and enjoy!
