Ingredients:

  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 loaf of French bread or brioche, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add bread cubes to the custard mixture and gently fold to combine until all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  7. Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the bread before baking.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and puffed.
  9. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
