Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
  • 2 tsp Coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Dried rubbed sage
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1 tsp Dried rosemary (crushed)
  • 1 tsp Dark brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary and sage (finely minced)
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest

Instructions:

  1. In a small glass mixing bowl, combine the Kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, dried sage, dried thyme, dried rosemary, and dark brown sugar.
  2. Use a whisk or fork to break up any clumps of brown sugar or onion powder until the mixture is uniform in color with evenly distributed herbs.
  3. In a separate container, integrate the softened unsalted butter with the minced fresh rosemary, sage, and lemon zest to create the wet rub phase.
  4. Pat the turkey completely dry with paper towels before applying the seasoning to ensure a crisp skin.
