Ingredients:

  • 4-5 lbs whole beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon powder
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups low sodium beef broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine beef bouillon powder, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Rub the spice blend all over the brisket, ensuring even coverage, and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and sear the brisket on all sides until browned.
  5. Place sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of a roasting pan or Dutch oven, then transfer the brisket to the pan and pour beef broth around it.
  6. Cover tightly and bake in a preheated oven at 300°F for 3-4 hours until tender.
  7. Let the brisket rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing and serve with pan juices drizzled over the top.
