Ingredients:
- 4-5 lbs whole beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons beef bouillon powder
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups low sodium beef broth
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
- Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine beef bouillon powder, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Rub the spice blend all over the brisket, ensuring even coverage, and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and sear the brisket on all sides until browned.
- Place sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of a roasting pan or Dutch oven, then transfer the brisket to the pan and pour beef broth around it.
- Cover tightly and bake in a preheated oven at 300°F for 3-4 hours until tender.
- Let the brisket rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing and serve with pan juices drizzled over the top.
