Ingredients:

  • 12 large fresh strawberries (about 1 pound or 450 g)
  • 1 cup carob chips (175 g)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (15 mL)
  • 1 tablespoon crushed nuts (e.g., almonds or walnuts) (15 g)
  • Sea salt flakes for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Gently wash and dry the strawberries, ensuring no water remains.
  2. Set up a double boiler or microwave to melt the carob chips and coconut oil together until smooth.
  3. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the melted carob, covering it completely.
  4. Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet, allowing excess to drip off.
  5. If desired, sprinkle with crushed nuts or sea salt before the coating sets.
  6. Refrigerate the baking sheet for at least 30 minutes or until the carob coating hardens.
  7. Arrange on a plate and enjoy!
