Ingredients:
- 1 pound (454g) Ground Beef (80/20 blend recommended for flavor)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon (5g) Onion Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) Smoked Paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25g) Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25g) Black Pepper
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) Ketchup
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Yellow Mustard
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Sweet Pickle Relish
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) White Vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25g) Garlic Powder
- Pinch of Paprika
- 8 cups (approx. 2 liters) Shredded Lettuce (Iceberg or Romaine, or a mix)
- 1 cup (113g) Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1/2 cup (approx. 75g) Diced Tomato
- 1/2 cup (approx. 75g) Diced Red Onion
- 1/2 cup (approx. 75g) Sliced Dill Pickles (or Sweet Pickles, if preferred)
- Optional: Sesame Seeds, for garnish
- Optional: Crumbled cooked bacon
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and break it up with a spoon. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F/71°C). Drain off any excess grease.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle relish, white vinegar, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth.
- In a large bowl, combine shredded lettuce, cooked ground beef, cheddar cheese, diced tomato, diced red onion, and sliced pickles.
- Pour the special sauce over the salad and toss gently to combine. Garnish with sesame seeds and/or bacon crumbles (if using). Serve immediately.
