Ingredients:
- 6 cups tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (e.g., Granny Smith)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples. In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour until well coated.
- In another mixing bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until crumbly.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Top with the oat mixture, spreading it evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, preferably with ice cream or whipped cream.
