Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup French-fried onions
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add green beans and cook for 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

  4. Add the blanched green beans and shredded cheese (if using) to the sauce mixture. Stir until well coated.
  5. Pour the green bean mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix French-fried onions with panko breadcrumbs. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the casserole.
  7. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and topping is golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm.
