Ingredients:

  • 3 oz fresh lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
  • 2 oz Cointreau (or another triple sec)
  • 2 oz silver tequila (preferably 100% agave)
  • 1 oz simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish)
  • Sea salt (for rimming the glass, optional)

Instructions:

  1. If desired, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip in sea salt to coat.
  2. Squeeze the limes until you achieve 3 oz of fresh lime juice, discarding any seeds.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine lime juice, Cointreau, tequila, and simple syrup (if using).
  4. Fill the shaker with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  5. Fill prepared glasses with ice and strain the cocktail mixture into each glass.
  6. Add a lime wedge to each glass for garnish.
