Ingredients:
- 4 cups (950ml) Water
- 1 Orange, sliced
- 1 Apple, sliced
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 tablespoon Whole Cloves
- 1 teaspoon Nutmeg, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon Ginger, ground
- 1/4 cup Cranberries (optional)
- 2-3 Star Anise (optional)
Instructions:
- In the saucepan, combine water, orange slices, apple slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger. Add cranberries and star anise, if using.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to low and allow the stovetop potpourri to simmer gently.
- Check the water level periodically (every 30-60 minutes) and add more water as needed.
- Continue to simmer the potpourri for 1-4 hours, or as long as desired. The longer it simmers, the stronger the scent will become.
