Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado (approximately 200g)
- 1 medium ripe banana (approximately 120g)
- 1 cup (240ml) almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 cup (30g) fresh spinach leaves, tightly packed
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/2 cup (120g) ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)
Instructions:
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the blender.
- Peel the banana and break it into chunks.
- Add the almond milk, spinach, banana, and optional honey/maple syrup to the blender.
- Include the avocado flesh and vanilla extract in the blender.
- Blend on high until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.
- If the smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- If using ice, add it to the blender and pulse until incorporated for a chilled, frosty texture.
- Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy!
