Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado (approximately 200g)
  • 1 medium ripe banana (approximately 120g)
  • 1 cup (240ml) almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 cup (30g) fresh spinach leaves, tightly packed
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (120g) ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the blender.
  2. Peel the banana and break it into chunks.
  3. Add the almond milk, spinach, banana, and optional honey/maple syrup to the blender.
  4. Include the avocado flesh and vanilla extract in the blender.
  5. Blend on high until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.
  6. If the smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  7. If using ice, add it to the blender and pulse until incorporated for a chilled, frosty texture.
  8. Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy!
