Ingredients:

  • 1 can (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir continuously until the butter is melted and the sugar begins to dissolve.
  3. Slowly whisk in the sweetened condensed milk while maintaining the heat.
  4. Keep stirring for about 10-12 minutes until the sauce thickens and turns a golden brown.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, then let cool slightly before transferring to a jar.
