Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Russet potatoes
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions:
- Peel the potatoes and slice them into uniform 1/2 inch thick sticks.
- Submerge the cut potatoes in a bowl of ice-cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove surface starch.
- Drain the potatoes and lay them out on a clean kitchen towel. Pat them until they are completely bone-dry.
- Transfer dried potatoes to a bowl and toss with cornstarch until a thin, even film forms.
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F. Lightly coat the starched potatoes with avocado oil and seasonings (salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika).
- Arrange potatoes in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes.
- Continue cooking for another 8 to 10 minutes, or until the fries are deep golden brown and crisp. Total cook time depends on your specific air fryer model.
