Ingredients:
- 4 oz spicy ginger beer
- 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
- 2 oz dark rum
- 1 fresh lime wedge
- High-quality large ice cubes
Instructions:
- Chill the glass. Place your highball glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. Note: A cold glass helps maintain carbonation.
- Fill the chilled glass to the brim with large ice cubes.
- Pour 4 oz spicy ginger beer into the glass until the glass is about three quarters full.
- Pour 0.5 oz fresh lime juice directly over the ice.
- Hold a bar spoon just above the surface of the ginger beer, concave side down. Slowly pour 2 ounces of dark rum over the back of the spoon to create the signature layered 'storm' visual.
- Squeeze the lime wedge over the top to release essential oils, then drop it into the glass to garnish.
- Let the drink sit for 10 seconds until the rum starts to 'bleed' into the ginger beer.
