Ingredients:
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk, chilled
- Butter, jam, or honey for spreading
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add in buttermilk, mixing until just combined (do not overmix).
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead 2-3 times.
- Roll or pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
- Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with butter or your favorite spread.
