Ingredients:
- 12 oz Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1 lb deli roast beef, thinly sliced
- 8 oz Provolone cheese, sliced thin
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups beef broth, low sodium
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
- Place a skillet over medium heat with 2 tbsp butter and olive oil. Add the sliced onions and salt, cooking for 15–20 minutes until mahogany-colored and jammy. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Layer the provolone cheese slices on the bottom buns, followed by the roast beef and the caramelized onions. Top with remaining cheese and the top bun slab.
- Whisk melted butter and garlic powder together. Brush the mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the tops are golden brown.
- While sliders bake, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and pepper in a small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes to reduce until glossy.
