Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, onion, garlic, and all spices. Use clean hands to mix everything together thoroughly.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions (about 2 ounces each) and shape each portion into a round patty, approximately 1/2 inch thick.
- If time allows, refrigerate patties for 15-30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil (if not using a non-stick pan). Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer to a plate and serve hot. Enjoy with your favourite sides!
