Ingredients:
- 4 (6-oz) salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets bone-dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Place salmon skin-side down, press firmly with a spatula for 10 seconds, and cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden.
- Flip the fillets and reduce the heat to medium.
- Add the butter and garlic to the pan, stirring for 30 seconds until the butter smells nutty.
- Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice.
- Continuously baste the salmon with the bubbling sauce for 2-3 minutes until the fillets are mahogany-colored and opaque.
