Ingredients:
- 2 cups bourbon (such as a high-quality Kentucky bourbon)
- ½ cup pecans, toasted
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread pecans on a baking sheet and toast until fragrant, about 8-10 minutes. Let cool.
- In a clean glass jar, combine the toasted pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and sea salt.
- Pour in the bourbon, ensuring all ingredients are submerged.
- Tightly seal the jar and gently shake to mix the ingredients.
- Let the mixture sit in a cool, dark place for 24 hours, shaking gently once or twice throughout.
- After 24 hours, use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the infusion into a clean bottle, discarding solids.
- Seal the bottle and store in a cool, dark place. The infusion will deepen in flavor over time.
