Ingredients:

  • 2 cups bourbon (such as a high-quality Kentucky bourbon)
  • ½ cup pecans, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread pecans on a baking sheet and toast until fragrant, about 8-10 minutes. Let cool.
  2. In a clean glass jar, combine the toasted pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and sea salt.
  3. Pour in the bourbon, ensuring all ingredients are submerged.
  4. Tightly seal the jar and gently shake to mix the ingredients.
  5. Let the mixture sit in a cool, dark place for 24 hours, shaking gently once or twice throughout.
  6. After 24 hours, use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the infusion into a clean bottle, discarding solids.
  7. Seal the bottle and store in a cool, dark place. The infusion will deepen in flavor over time.
