Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons honey, preferably raw
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
- While the water is boiling, grate the fresh ginger.
- Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat. Add the grated ginger to the hot water. Stir in the honey until fully dissolved.
- Let the mixture steep for about 5 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into mugs or a heatproof container. Stir in the lemon juice and cayenne pepper, if using.
- Serve hot. Enjoy immediately for best results.
