Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh mint leaves, loosely packed
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh basil leaves, loosely packed
  • 1 medium lime, juiced (approximately 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or agave syrup
  • 2 cups (480 ml) sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices for garnish
  • Additional mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the mint and basil leaves under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a mixing glass, combine the mint, basil, lime juice, and honey/agave syrup. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to gently crush the herbs to release their oils without tearing them apart.
  3. Add ice cubes to the mixing glass. Pour in the sparkling water, and stir gently to combine all ingredients.
  4. Strain the mixture into serving glasses filled with ice, if desired. Garnish with lime slices and additional mint leaves.
  5. Serve immediately and savor the refreshing herbal flavors!
