Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) fresh mint leaves, loosely packed
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh basil leaves, loosely packed
- 1 medium lime, juiced (approximately 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or agave syrup
- 2 cups (480 ml) sparkling water
- Ice cubes
- Lime slices for garnish
- Additional mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Rinse the mint and basil leaves under cold water and pat dry.
- In a mixing glass, combine the mint, basil, lime juice, and honey/agave syrup. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to gently crush the herbs to release their oils without tearing them apart.
- Add ice cubes to the mixing glass. Pour in the sparkling water, and stir gently to combine all ingredients.
- Strain the mixture into serving glasses filled with ice, if desired. Garnish with lime slices and additional mint leaves.
- Serve immediately and savor the refreshing herbal flavors!
