Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (optional) for easier cleaning.
- Gently snap off the tough ends of the asparagus.
- In a bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Arrange the asparagus in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until tender and lightly browned, tossing halfway through.
- In the last 2 minutes of cooking, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired, and return to the oven until melted.
- Remove from oven and serve hot.
