Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (optional) for easier cleaning.
  3. Gently snap off the tough ends of the asparagus.
  4. In a bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Arrange the asparagus in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until tender and lightly browned, tossing halfway through.
  7. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired, and return to the oven until melted.
  8. Remove from oven and serve hot.
