Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) white rice (e.g., jasmine or basmati)
  • 1 ¼ cups (300ml) water or broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 bay leaf (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold running water using a fine mesh strainer until water runs clear.
  2. Add the rinsed rice to the Instant Pot.
  3. Pour in water or broth, and stir in salt (if using).
  4. Add olive oil or butter and garlic, if desired.
  5. Seal the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to Sealing.
  6. Select Pressure Cook or Manual on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  7. When cooking is complete
  8. Remove the lid, fluff the rice with a fork, and serve warm.
