Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • Salt, to taste (approximately ½ teaspoon)
  • Black pepper, to taste (approximately ¼ teaspoon)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions:

  1. Wash and trim the ends of the asparagus. Cut into 2-inch pieces for quicker cooking if desired.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the asparagus to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are vibrant green and tender-crisp.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Remove from heat. Add lemon zest and juice, tossing to combine.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish, garnished with extra lemon zest if desired.
