  • 1 cup (85g/3 oz) unsweetened shredded coconut (desiccated coconut)

Instructions:

  1. Place the dry skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread the shredded coconut in an even layer in the dry skillet.
  3. Cook, stirring frequently (almost constantly towards the end), until the coconut turns golden brown and fragrant. Watch carefully to learn how to toast coconut without burning it.
  4. Be vigilant! The coconut can burn quickly. Lower the heat if it's browning too fast.
  5. Once toasted, immediately transfer the coconut to a plate or tray to cool completely. This prevents it from continuing to cook and potentially burning.
