Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops (1/2 cup) vanilla bean gelato or premium vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tbsp boiling water
  • 2 tsp instant espresso powder
  • 1 tsp Amaretto or Frangelico liqueur
  • 1 tbsp shaved dark chocolate or crushed hazelnuts

Instructions:

  1. Place the serving glass in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill.
  2. Scoop two firm balls of vanilla ice cream into the bottom of the chilled glass.
  3. Boil your water in a kettle.
  4. Combine 2 tbsp boiling water and 2 tsp instant espresso powder in a small cup.
  5. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds until the powder is completely dissolved and no clumps remain.
  6. Slowly pour the hot coffee directly over the center of the ice cream.
  7. Drizzle 1 tsp of Amaretto or Frangelico over the top.
  8. Garnish with 1 tbsp shaved dark chocolate or crushed hazelnuts.
