Ingredients:

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed (approximately 600g)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4-5 limes, approximately 120ml)
  • 3 oz (about 90ml) tequila (preferably silver or blanco)
  • 1 oz (about 30ml) orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or triple sec)
  • 1-2 tablespoons agave syrup (to taste)
  • Ice cubes (for blending and serving)
  • Sea salt (for rimming glasses, optional)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish, optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds.
  2. In a blender, combine watermelon cubes, lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur, and agave syrup.
  3. Blend until smooth, adjusting sweetness as needed.
  4. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove pulp if desired.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  6. If rimming with salt, run a lime wedge around the glass rim, then dip into sea salt.
  7. Fill glasses with ice, pour the watermelon margarita over, and garnish with lime wedges and mint.
