Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: ¼ cup (15 g) grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and trim the ends of the green beans using a knife.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Add the green beans to the skillet, tossing to coat with oil and garlic. Sauté for about 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Remove from heat, then stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer the green beans to a serving dish, sprinkle with Parmesan if desired, and enjoy!
