Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Optional: ¼ cup (15 g) grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions:
- Rinse and trim the ends of the green beans using a knife.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
- Add the green beans to the skillet, tossing to coat with oil and garlic. Sauté for about 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Remove from heat, then stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- Transfer the green beans to a serving dish, sprinkle with Parmesan if desired, and enjoy!
