Ingredients:
- 2 medium ripe bananas (about 240g)
- 1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (75g) walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Mix in the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir until incorporated.
- Gently fold in the flour until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chopped walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan (or lined with parchment).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely.
