Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup (50g) popcorn kernels
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) high-smoke-point oil (vegetable, canola, coconut)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) Melted Butter (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Add the oil and three popcorn kernels to the pot. Cover with the lid.
  2. Heat over medium-high heat. Once the three test kernels pop, remove from heat and add the remaining popcorn kernels.
  3. Carefully pour the remaining kernels into the pot, making sure they spread in an even layer. Cover, wait 30 seconds, and place it back on the heat
  4. Return the pot to medium-high heat. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning.
  5. As the popcorn starts to pop, listen for the popping to slow down to a few seconds between pops. Remove from heat immediately.
  6. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl. Immediately sprinkle with salt and toss to distribute evenly. Drizzle with melted butter, if desired, and toss again. Serve immediately.
