Ingredients:

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 pound fresh jalapeño peppers, sliced into rounds

Instructions:

  1. Wash and slice the jalapeños into rounds (wear gloves if desired).
  2. In a medium pot, mix together the sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium-high until the sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in the sliced jalapeños and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until jalapeños are tender and syrup thickens slightly.
  6. Remove from heat, let cool for about 30 minutes, then ladle into a heat-resistant jar and refrigerate.
