Ingredients:
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 pound fresh jalapeño peppers, sliced into rounds
Instructions:
- Wash and slice the jalapeños into rounds (wear gloves if desired).
- In a medium pot, mix together the sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Heat the mixture over medium-high until the sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the sliced jalapeños and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until jalapeños are tender and syrup thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat, let cool for about 30 minutes, then ladle into a heat-resistant jar and refrigerate.
