Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a 12-inch cast iron skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Place fillets skin-side up. Sear for 3–5 minutes without moving them until a deep golden crust forms.
- Flip the fillets and sear for another 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium. Pour the whisked honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes directly into the pan around the fish.
- As the sauce bubbles and thickens into a velvety syrup (about 2-3 minutes), use a spoon to continuously baste the top of the fillets.
- Remove from heat once the glaze clings to the fish.
- Let the fillets rest for 2 minutes before plating.
