- 2 cups (240 g) all-purpose flour

- 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (230 g) unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Green food coloring
- Black food coloring (for field markings)
- Edible football player figures
- Miniature goal posts
- Additional sprinkles or edible decorations
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour the round cake pans.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add dry ingredients and milk alternately, mixing until combined.
- Divide batter evenly between the pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness using a toothpick.
- Let the cakes cool in their pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
- Beat butter, powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla until smooth. Divide and color portions for decorating (green and black).
- Place one layer on a serving platter, frost with a layer of green buttercream, add the second layer, then frost the entire cake.
- Use black buttercream to pipe yard lines and end zones, arrange the players and goalposts.
