Ingredients:
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (4g) instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
- 3/4 cup (180ml) warm water
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1 cup (240g) pizza sauce (tomato or pesto)
- 2 cups (200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (75g) sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 cup (80g) sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)
- 1/4 cup (15g) fresh basil leaves
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon (1g) red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone in the oven if using.
- On a floured surface, roll out the rested dough to your desired thickness and shape.
- Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, add sliced pepperoni and bell peppers, then top with basil and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden and cheese bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let cool a few minutes, then slice and serve hot!
