Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (4g) instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) warm water
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1 cup (240g) pizza sauce (tomato or pesto)
  • 2 cups (200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (75g) sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup (80g) sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)
  • 1/4 cup (15g) fresh basil leaves
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon (1g) red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone in the oven if using.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the rested dough to your desired thickness and shape.
  4. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, add sliced pepperoni and bell peppers, then top with basil and red pepper flakes if desired.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden and cheese bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven, let cool a few minutes, then slice and serve hot!
