Ingredients:

  • 3 large ripe bananas (approximately 1 ½ cups mashed)
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon (2g) salt
  • 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • Optional: ½ cup (80g) chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  4. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract; mix until fully incorporated.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together baking soda, salt, and flour.
  6. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
  7. Optional: Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan, smoothing the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
