Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Salmon fillet
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp Cracked black pepper
- 1/4 cup Pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp Grated fresh ginger
- 1 clove Minced garlic
Instructions:
- Submerge cedar planks in water for at least 2 hours to prevent ignition and create steam.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, brush the bottom with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger, and garlic until smooth.
- Place the salmon on the soaked cedar plank and brush a generous layer of glaze over the top.
- Let the fish sit on the plank for 10 minutes to allow the glaze to penetrate.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (approximately 375°F / 190°C).
- Place the plank directly on the grill grates and close the lid.
- Every 5 minutes, brush additional glaze over the salmon until the top is a deep, glossy mahogany.
- Remove the plank when the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare or 145°F (63°C) for medium.
