Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 6 large bell peppers
  • ½ cup beef broth or water

Instructions:

  1. Place the raw ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic into a gallon-sized freezer-safe zip-top bag.
  2. Stir in the cooked rice, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Squeeze out as much air as possible and seal the bag. Lay it flat on a baking sheet to ensure even thawing.
  4. Freeze for 2–4 hours until solid before storing in the main freezer for up to 3 months.
  5. Transfer the bag from the freezer to the refrigerator 24 hours before you plan to eat.
  6. Once thawed, gently massage the bag to redistribute the juices and break up any clumps of rice or meat.
  7. Stuff the filling into the prepared bell peppers and bake in a baking dish with beef broth or use a slow cooker.
