Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets, 6 oz (170g) each
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry using paper towels. Note: Moisture creates steam, which stops the crust from forming.
- Season both sides evenly with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat until shimmering.
- Place salmon in the pan, skin side down, and press down lightly. Cook for 3-5 minutes until a golden brown crust forms.
- Flip the fillets and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Lower the heat to medium. Push the fillets to the sides of the pan and add 3 tbsp butter to the center.
- Stir in 4 cloves minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant but not brown.
- Pour in 1/4 cup honey, 2 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Let it bubble for 2-3 minutes.
- Using a spoon, continuously pour the thickening glaze over the Garlic Glazed Salmon Filet.
- Remove from heat once the sauce is velvety and the salmon is cooked to your liking.
