Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets, approx 1.5 lbs
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup raw honey
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced into rounds
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Note: Moisture on the surface prevents the glaze from adhering
- Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes.
- Stir until the mixture is glossy and uniform. Note: The oil helps the honey stay fluid and spread evenly
- Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spoon the glaze generously over the tops and sides of each fillet.
- Nestle the lemon slices around and on top of the fish.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes until the glaze bubbles and the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C).
- Remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for 3 minutes. Note: This allows carryover heat to finish the center
- Drizzle any remaining pan juices over the fillets.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
